This movie in many ways was extremely dissappointing. It lacks the complexity and intelligence of Mary Kate and Ashley's later movies like "New York Minute" and "the Challange" but is still entertaining on many levels. There are many good parts, some bad parts, and so more parts that are down right confusing.
Like always Mary-Kate and Ashley play their parts perfectly, there was never a single doubt in my mind, I sincerly believe that they were twins that like each other very much. Superb acting on their part. But this awesome acting job only exagerated the poor actingof there fellow actors. One in praticular, Griffin(I think) was horrendous. It was bad. It was so bad it made me angry.
Another rough spot was the directing. I think he was on dope or some sort of hallucigentic, some of the scenes were just down right confusing. The film would go from normal color, to grainy color, to black and white, to blurry color all in a single scene, I think it was to make the film "artistic" but to me it just made it "retarded".
The plot was also lackluster. The twins are set to go on a school field trip to Hawaii, wow awesome school, when their parents decide to have a family vacation, to the Bahamas. Talk about sucking, being forced to go to the Bahamas, what mean parents. Anyways at a super fancy luxury hotel the twins met boys, party, and stop an antique smuggling operation. Great times all around.
In conclusion, all and all a good movie but it does have some rough spots, especially concerning some actors and their lack of acting skill (which ends up being everyone but Mary-Kate and Ashley) and a director on crack. But besides all that the movie is still pretty decent, but there are better Olsen twin movies out there.
