The Challenge

This was the last direct to video movie Mary Kate and Ashley acted in before "New York Minute" (NYM) and they went out with a bang. For the first time they seem to be in the zone, their acting is dead on, the plot is amazing, and the location is bueatiful. In short their best movie pre-NYM.

The premise of this movie is freakin' ingenious. Not only does it combine the typical Olsen Twin plot about seperated twins who hate each other, have to come together, then they come to accept their differences and live happily ever after, but adds a new twist. The twins are on a survivor type reality tv show, amazing.

Like always the twins are polar oppisites, one is a control freak the other a crazy tree hugging liberal hippee, as you can see conflict is imminent.

The best part by far is the extended period of time in which Mary Kate and Ashley are in swimsuits, a big plus.

Here is a brief rundown of the plot: The twins are on the same reality tv show, a poor man's survivor where the grand prize is a full ride to any college. Well they are put on the same team, and must overcome their differences to have a chance at winning the schlorships.

Do they manage to win, or do they suffer the cold hard agony of defeat? You'll just have to see for yourself, but watch for the suprise ending.
