This is one of the girls’ better movies. I immensely enjoyed watching this film, and I recommend it to anybody who likes to have a good time. The basic plot is as follows. The girls play two twin sisters named Taylor (Ashley) and Kylie (Mary-Kate) Hunter who have just recently turned 16 and gotten their licenses. Also for their birthday, their father bought them a 1965 red Ford Mustang convertible. They also have five friends, two girls and three guys. The girls’ names are Jenn and Lyndi, while the guys are called Danny, Sam, and, best of all, Toast. How glorious is that? His freaking name is Toast. I love it!! He is a brilliant character; he seems to be dumb as a post and is constantly eating. He is amazingly awesome, and I aspire to be like him one of these days.
These seven characters set out on a road trip in separate cars, the boys have a 50s Caddy, to get to the Winter Games in Utah. Taylor has a thing for a skier and wants to see him ski. Every disaster that could possibly happen does happen, and they end up back at their house on two separate occasions. They try driving, flying, and taking the bus. All of these attempts end in disaster. At one point, the boys are coming out of the taco drive through and realize that they don't have any hot sauce. Toast, who is driving, decides that it would be a good idea to back up to the window and get some. The only problem is that there is a spike strip in the way and he pops all of the tires on his Cadillac. At another point the boys and the girls, completely separate from each other, end up flying to the wrong city. One other time, the girls car gets stolen while they are eating dinner.
However, we all know that the real reason that we watch these movies is to watch the love interests. Mary-Kate's love interest is the Sam character. He seems to be in love with her but she doesn't really love him back so much. Ashley's love interest is some skier guy named Alex who seems to be about 38 years old. The two other guys and the two other girls also end up coupling up. Amazing how that just happens to work out!!
The cleverest part of the script however, is the part where Taylor, Danny, and Jenn are lost in some little hick town and they end up running into a country bumpkin girl who is their age, and named Charly. She just happens to be really hott and, luckily enough, she turns out not to be a country bumpkin like we think. Instead she is the very wealthy heiress to the orange grove fortune that her dad has. He happens to own a private jet and he flies them to the Olympics finally.
The only problem is that they are too late to see any of the events that they wanted to see. Instead they end up having cannonballympics. They all have a wonderful time with their new friend Charly. Taylor runs into that Alex fellow but doesn't realize it, and their new friend Charly decided to come back to L.A. with them and go to school there. Believe it or not, they live happily ever after.
